Choosing the Right Umbrella Stroller

!±8± Choosing the Right Umbrella Stroller

With so many different styles of stroller to choose from, it is hard to choose what kind will work the best. Umbrella strollers are the most portable and double umbrella strollers are great when you have two small children. Each type of stroller works best for different types of activities. It would be difficult to use the same stroller for shopping in the mall as it would be for jogging. Though you can use some types of strollers for things they are not intended for, they are much easier to use for their intended purpose. And some activities are dangerous in some types of strollers, like jogging with an umbrella stroller or a standard stroller. Many people find two and sometimes even three strollers fit their activities best. So to help you in your quest for the proper fit, below I have discussed a few popular types of strollers with a few recommended brands.

Umbrella Strollers

These strollers are very simple. Usually the only extra thing they will have is a small canopy and foot rest. They are very light and are made only with aluminum bars and cloth to create the seat and back rest. The best thing about these strollers is that they are very light and compact making them very easy to travel with. Many people will choose to use these strollers on a day trip instead of a standard stroller for this reason. (However you will miss out on the benefits of storage with an umbrella stroller.) One of the biggest problems with these strollers is that most of them have very, very low handles (usually a few inches lower than a standard stroller) causing them to be more difficult to push and maneuver, and of course causing lower back pain somewhat prolonged use.

Recommended Brands of Umbrella or Double Umbrella Stroller:

If you are just looking for something light, compact, and cheap just go to Walmart. Otherwise, you will want to look at lightweight strollers. Some of the best brands of lightweight strollers are Peg Perego and Maclaren. Note: You will spend around 0 for a light weight stroller as opposed to at Walmart for an umbrella stroller, but it will last longer and be a more stylish and versatile stroller.
